  15. <p>     DIED. John Henry Faulk, 76, folksy Texas humorist and
  16. author; in Austin. Popular on radio and early television as a
  17. storyteller, he was fired by CBS in 1957 after a McCarthy era
  18. anticommunist group, Aware, Inc., put him on its hit list for
  19. alleged communist ties. Faulk's successful 1962 libel suit
  20. against the group and his 1964 book, Fear on Trial, describing
  21. his ordeal helped end such blacklisting.
